- Major safety upgrades have been completed at two priority locations on the Isis Highway, to get you home sooner and safer.

The Crisafulli Government has delivered a major road safety upgrade on the Isis Highway, with two significant projects completed at key locations between Bundaberg, Childers and Biggenden.
The completed projects include safety improvements at the Isis Highway and North South Road intersection at Eureka, as well as upgrades along the Isis Highway between the Cane Rail Overpass and Bruce Highway at North Isis.
Together, the projects deliver safer turning movements, improved visibility and upgraded road infrastructure designed to reduce crash risks and improve travel efficiency on one of the Burnett region's most important transport corridors.
Regional Queenslander roads were overlooked under the former Labor Government, with critical safety upgrades delayed while growing communities continued to rely on aging road infrastructure.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering better roads and more transport to get Queenslanders home sooner and safer, while delivering the infrastructure to support Queensland's growing population.
Upgrades to the Isis Highway included road widening, dedicated turning lanes, improved lighting, upgraded signage, guardrail installation, culvert extensions, wide centreline treatments, audio tactile line marking and the removal of roadside hazards.
The works form part of a broader package of four road safety projects being delivered along the Isis Highway through the Crisafulli Government's Targeted Road Safety Program.
Minister for Transport and Main Roads Brent Mickelberg said the completed projects would provide long-term safety benefits for local communities.
"Every road safety improvement we deliver has the potential to save lives, which is why we're continuing to invest in targeted upgrades on critical regional corridors like the Isis Highway," Minister Mickelberg said.
"These upgrades will support safer and more efficient travel for the thousands of motorists who travel between Bundaberg, Childers and Biggenden every year.
"The Crisafulli Government is getting on with the job of delivering better roads and more transport to boost safety and improve connectivity for Queensland families.
"During Labor's decade of decline, too many regional roads were left waiting for the investment they needed.
"These projects are part of a broader program of works that will continue improving safety along the Isis Highway and supporting the communities and industries that rely on this important route every day."
Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett said the completed works were a major win for local motorists and regional communities.
"The Isis Highway is a critical link for local families, freight operators, agricultural industries and visitors travelling throughout the Burnett region," Mr Bennett said.
"Locals know how important these improvements are, particularly at locations where crash risks and safety concerns have existed for some time.
"It's fantastic to see these projects now completed and delivering real benefits through safer intersections, better visibility and improved traffic movements.
"Regional communities were too often left behind under Labor, while important road projects sat on the drawing board. The Crisafulli Government is ensuring the Burnett gets the infrastructure investment it deserves.
"These upgrades will make a real difference for motorists today while helping support the region's future growth, productivity and road safety outcomes for years to come."
