Safest places to work in NSW

Minister for Better Regulation and Innovation Kevin Anderson today congratulated the winners of the 2019 SafeWork Awards.

Minister Anderson said Port Waratah Coal Services, Sydney Metro, CareSouth and John Harris from Liberty Industrial are just some of the winners awarded in Sydney overnight.

"The SafeWork Awards recognises the hard work of employees and businesses with the most outstanding workplace health and safety standards and return to work outcomes," Mr Anderson said.

"The winners are setting new standards for providing safe and healthy workplaces across NSW.

"Every worker has the right to work in a safe environment, so they can return to their homes and loved ones at the end of the day," Mr Anderson said.

Eight winners were announced across eight categories at an awards ceremony in Sydney overnight marking the conclusion of the NSW Government's Safe Work Month.

"These awards acknowledge the commendable work we see in categories including 'Leadership in Workplace health and safety culture', 'Best Solution to High Risk Work Health and Safety Issue', as well as acknowledging 'Excellence in Recovery at Work' for both businesses and individuals.

"I congratulate all the winners of the 2019 SafeWork NSW Awards and thank them for setting the benchmark in work health and safety and return to work for others to follow," Mr Anderson said.
