Safety boost for Prossers Road

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is committed to providing the upgraded infrastructure a booming Tasmania needs, both for the safety and convenience of locals and visitors.

Safety along Prossers Road in Tasmania’s North-East will be improved for all road users when the first stage of sealing upgrade work begins on Monday (January 7).

The Government has committed $1 million for this two-year project which will provide two 3-metre-wide sealed lanes, with stage one starting at the intersection of Prossers Road and Lilydale Road at Underwood.

Stage two of works will continue down Prossers Road, finishing at the intersection of Prossers Road and Patersonia Road at Nunamara.

Work will be undertaken between 7am and 5pm from Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work.

There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the safety of workers and road users. Lane closures and a reduced speed limit will be in place during work hours and may affect travel times.

Road users are asked to allow extra time when travelling through the area, and to follow all directions given by traffic controllers.
