National Safe Work Month is here - a time for workplaces across Australia to put WHS in the spotlight and prioritise safe and healthy work for all.
This year's theme, safety: every job, every day, encourages all workplaces - regardless of occupation, industry, location, and size - to prioritise safety every day. Practicing safety: every job, every day means we can reduce the rate of fatalities, serious injuries and illnesses in our workplaces, and ensure that everyone gets home safely from work.
To help you make safety: every job, every day a reality, we'll be stepping through the risk management process throughout National Safe Work Month. This week, we're starting with identifying hazards - finding things and situations that could potentially cause harm to people. Harm can be physical, psychological or both.
From inspecting the workplace to reviewing data to consulting your workers, there are many ways you can identify hazards. Learn more about identifying hazards with our practical resources in the National Safe Work Month activity kit.
Hosting a SafeTea event is a great way to get your workplace together to talk about health and safety, especially in identifying hazards. Find everything you need to run a SafeTea event this month - including talking points, discussion dice, and trivia - in our resource hub.
