SEAFIRE 2019 Surfers Paradise road closures

Gold Coast police would like to remind motorists of upcoming road closures due to Seafire – a fireworks and entertainment display being conducted on Surfers Paradise foreshore and beach on Friday 31 May and Saturday June 1, 2019 from 4:00pm until 9:00pm.

The event attracts approximately 25,000 spectators each night and this year will be a multicultural showcase with local and interstate performers.

It is non-ticketed, alcohol free, family focused event.

The event features a Battle of Fireworks each night, with the winner competing against last year's champions Team Philippines.

Road closures will be in place at the following locations:

• The Esplanade, Surfers Paradise between the Soul building roundabout and Hanlan Street, Surfers Paradise from 4pm and 9pm;

• Beach Road and Hanlan Street Surfers Paradise (exit from the Bruce Bishop Park will be assisted by police at this time)

AND

• Southbound Surfers Paradise Blvd at the intersection with Elkhorn Avenue, Surfers Paradise - both from 7:45pm until 9pm.

Queensland Police request road users be patient and avoid this area for non-essential travel during the evenings of Friday May 31 and Saturday June 1, 2019 and advise anyone attending the event to use public transport where possible and plan for traffic delays.
