Search and rescue at Mount Perry, QLD

Police conducted a search and rescue operation this evening in the Bania State Forest at Mount Perry, Queensland Police say.

Just after midday police were contacted via mobile phone by a 63-year-old man who had become lost in Bania after his motorcycle broke down.

The man became disorientated after attempting to walk back towards the East-West Road.

Gin Gin police and SES crews commenced an extensive search of the area with the assistance of Mount Perry locals.

The man was located around 8pm tonight safe and well and returned to his home in Bundaberg.
