Search And Rescue, Julia Creek

Police have launched a search and rescue operation in the eastern Mount Isa area after a 42-year-old man was reported missing yesterday, 16 February.

Suleiman Surtie (pictured) was last seen leaving Cloncurry on 13 February around 3pm and is believed to be driving to Cairns in a white Toyota Landcruiser with Queensland registration 702Z0Q, with red and black decals.

Around 5pm on 16 February, a search and rescue operation involving police and aerial assets was launched in the Julia Creek, Richmond and surrounding areas.

The search resumed at 7am this morning, 17 February and police are appealing for anyone with information or has seen Mr Surtie or his vehicle, to come forward.
