Search continuing for missing Primrose Sands man

Police and emergency services are continuing to search for missing Primrose Sands man, Bob Lucas who hasn't been seen since Tuesday.

The 77-year-old did not turn up to a scheduled medical appointment on Wednesday, and police and his family are concerned for his welfare.

Tasmania Fire Service and State Emergency Service volunteers are assisting Tasmania Police search and rescue teams with the search, which is focused around the Primrose Sands and Carlton Bluff areas.

"We are also asking Primrose Sands and Carlton residents to search their properties, both residential and larger, including any outbuildings," said Inspector Peter Harris.

"Bob was last seen on Tuesday, 7 July on Tamarix Road, Primrose Sands wearing a light bone-coloured hooded jacket."

He is about 172cm tall with a slim build and is believed to be travelling on foot.

Anyone who has seen Bob recently, or who has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Sorell Police on 131 444.
