Search for car thieves continues, SA

Police continue to search for two men who stole a ute at gunpoint at Mil-Lel yesterday morning, according to SA Police.

Following a crash at the intersection of Sherwin Road and Attamurra Road at 10.45am on Thursday 10 November, a grey Nissan Navara dual cab ute was stolen at gunpoint from the owner.

The two male suspects abandoned a black Holden ute at the scene of the crash and drove off in the stolen car.

The Nissan was then located by police in Trevorrow Street, Mount Gambier.

Police, with the assistance of STAR Group patrols and PolAir, have conducted extensive searches of the area, including a number of properties believed to be associated with the suspects, however, they have not been located.

Police are investigating possible links to an escapee from Victoria.

10 November escapee Mitchell

On Wednesday 9 November, 20-year-old Lachlan Mitchell absconded from the Youth Justice Centre in Malmsbury, Victoria.

He is described as Caucasian, 175cm tall, medium build, with blue eyes and short hair.

Anyone who sees Lachlan Mitchell is asked to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately. The two men are believed to be armed and should not be approached.
