Search for driver after stolen car crashes at Northfield , SA

Police are searching for a man who crashed a stolen car into two other vehicles at Northfield a short time ago, according to SA Police.

Just after 5pm, a police patrol spotted a stolen Mitsubishi wagon travelling north on Hampstead Road at Northfield.

The male driver failed to stop when requested and it was followed for a very short distance before the patrol terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.

Moments later the Mitsubishi collided with collided with two other vehicles, just south of the intersection of Grand Junction Road.

The man driving the stolen car immediately ran from the scene with patrols, now searching for the man in neighbouring streets.

The suspect male is described as about 40-years-old Caucasian with short dark hair wearing a a dark top and faded black Adidas track-pants.

There are no reported injuries to any person.

Traffic is restricted at near intersection of Grand Junction Road and Hampstead Road with tow trucks being called to remove the vehicles - please avoid the area if possible.
