Search for group missing north of Dungog, NSW

A search is underway for three people missing in the Central Hunter area, NSW Police say.

Police have been told a 75-year-old man and two women, aged 44 and 70, left their home in Cardiff about 11am today, to drive to a property in the Upper Allyn River area, about 45km north-west of Dungog.

When they failed to arrive home, family members began searching for them about 8pm.

Police from Central Hunter Local Area Command were alerted a short time later.

An extensive search of surrounding roads and camping grounds continued throughout the night; however, there has been no sign of the three at this time.

The search has resumed this morning tomorrow, and involves local police, assisted by police riding trail bikes, and SES volunteers.

The group was travelling in a silver 2004-model Commodore sedan with NSW registration, AG16KU.

Police and family have serious concerns for the well-being of the group as they have a number of medical issues.

Anyone who may have seen the car or the group should call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
