Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a man attempted to steal cash from a man in Altona in July, Victoria Police say.
It is believed a man caught a taxi from the Melbourne CBD to an address in Rymill Crt Altona about 12.30am on 11 July.
The man has gone to the front door of the property and demanded cash from the victim.
The victim refused to hand over any money and the offender fled the scene.
