Search for missing man in Ingleside

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Babak Haghighat, aged 47, was last seen at a religious temple on Mona Vale Road, Ingleside, just before 5pm yesterday (Thursday 28 February 2019).

Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command were notified about 6pm the same day and commenced an investigation.

Babak is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 172cm tall, of medium build with grey hair and a grey beard.

He was last seen wearing navy blue pants, a shirt, and carrying a backpack.

Police have concerns for his welfare after his vehicle, a Mercedes Benz, was located on the temple grounds unattended.

A search commenced at the temple grounds this morning (Friday 1 March 2019), involving local police, with assistance from Police Rescue, State Emergency Service and the Rural Fire Service.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area or who may have dashcam vision, specifically on Mona Vale Road between 5.15pm and 5.45pm yesterday, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
