Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing Reservoir man Domenico Morano, Victoria Police say.
Domenico was last seen by his family at Lawlay Street, Reservoir about 12.30pm yesterday.
The 81-year-old told his wife that he was going for a drive but would be home for dinner.
Domenico’s brown Ford sedan was located this morning in Learmonth Crescent, Sunshine West.
It’s believed Domenico was seen walking away from the car about 6.30am.
Police have concerns for Domenico’s welfare given his age.
He is of Italian background, about 160cm tall with a solid build, receding brown hair and brown eyes.
Domenico was last seen wearing a brown jumper and black pants and is possibly carrying a light blue cardigan.
Police have released an image of Domenico in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his current whereabouts.
Police are particularly urging those in the Sunshine West area to keep a look out for him.
Anyone with information about Domenico or who sights him is urged to call triple zero (000).
