Search for owners of stolen keys in Logan, QLD

Logan police are searching for the owners of a large number of car keys and jewellery uncovered during the search of a vehicle allegedly involved in an evade incident last month, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged around 8.30pm on July 29 police observed a stolen vehicle travelling along North Road at Woodridge and attempted to make an intercept.

The car allegedly drove away at speed, turning onto Ewing Road in the path of oncoming traffic before disappearing from police view as it travelled out of Logan district.

POLAIR tracked the car through as it travelled into Ipswich and back through to Heathwood.

A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on Stapylton Road around 9.40pm and the driver and passenger were taken into custody without incident.

A search of the vehicle resulted in a large amount of keys for cars and homes, garage remotes and jewellery being located.

Police have released images of the alleged stolen items in the hope of reuniting them with their owners. Anyone who may recognise the property is urged to contact or present to Crestmead station on Browns Plains Road.

A 22-year-old man was charged with fifteen offences including three counts each of fail to stop motor vehicle and driving of a motor vehicle without a driver’s licence, two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary, receiving tainted property and one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle, possess tainted property and possession of a knife.

A 20-year-old Marsden woman has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of stolen property as well as two drug-related offences.

Both were due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 31.
