Search for ute driver following Traralgon incidents

Police are currently searching for the driver of a silver ute following a series of incidents in Traralgon this morning, Victoria Police say.

A vehicle was sighted on McNairn Road about 9am bearing false plates and police attempted intercept the car.

The male driver took off and as he turned right on to Newman Crescent, rolled the vehicle.

The man, who is aged in his 30s, then ran from the car.

A female passenger in the vehicle was injured and has been taken to hospital.

It’s believed the man then flagged down a silver Ford Falcon ute and jumped into the back of it, then left the scene.

Police are unsure if the man was known to the driver.

The man was arrested about 12pm and is currently assisting police with enquiries.

However investigators are still keen to speak to the driver of the silver ute and are appealing for that person to come forward.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
