Second Arrest After Millbrook Fatal Crash

A second man has been arrested in relation to a fatal crash at Millbrook earlier this month.

Just before 8.30am on Saturday 1 July emergency services responded to reports of a single truck crash on Torrens Hill Road.

Sadly the passenger in the truck a 44-year-old man from Klemzig died at the scene.

The driver, a 46-year-old Blair Athol man, was taken to the Modbury hospital for treatment.

Later that day the driver was released from hospital and arrested by Major Crash Officers. He was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and bailed to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court on 23 August. He was also issued an instant loss of licence until further order.

On Friday 14 July, as a result of an investigation conducted by SAPol's Heavy vehicle Enforcement Unit, police attended a Hope Valley address and arrested the owner of the truck, a 62-year-old Happy Valley man and charged him with failing to meet his primary safety duty under the Heavy Vehicle National Law.

He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 22 November.
