Second man arrested after 2007 Cindy Crossthwaite murder - Melton South

Homicide Squad detectives have today arrested a second man following the 2007 murder of Cindy Crossthwaite in Melton South.

Police arrested a 50-year-old Taylors Lakes about 8.50am today.

He has since been charged with one count of murder and will face Melbourne Magistrates' Court shortly.

A 55-year-old Footscray man was arrested last week in relation to the matter and also charged with one count of murder.

The arrests follow the death of 41-year-old Cindy Crossthwaite on 20 June, 2007.

In 2017, police announced a $1 million reward for information in relation to Cindy's death and that reward remains on offer.

A reward of up to $1 million will be paid at the discretion of the Chief Commissioner of Police for information leading to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder.

In appropriate cases, the Department of Public Prosecutions may consider, according to established guidelines, the granting of indemnification from prosecution to any person who provides information as to the identity of the principal offender or offenders in this matter.

Any payment of a reward will be subject to the applicant signing a deed of confidentiality prior to payment.
