Second man arrested following Pakenham South intercept

Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a second man, this morning, following the intercept of an alleged stolen vehicle at Pakenham South earlier this month, Victoria Police say.

Pakenham Police intercepted an alleged stolen orange Ford utility following a crash on Koo Wee Rup-Pakenham Road, Pakenham South about 11.20am on 7 July.

A 26-year-old Pakenham man and a 33-year-old woman of no fixed address were arrested at the scene and police allegedly located a loaded firearm inside the ute.

It’s alleged the vehicle was stolen during a burglary of a home on Stoney Creek Road, Beaconsfield the previous day.

The man was remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 31 July charged with burglary, theft and firearms offences.

The woman was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 30 August charged with theft of motor vehicle.

Detectives executed a warrant at a Lynbrook home about 6.25am this morning.

A number of items, including power tools, were seized at the address.

A 26-year-old Lynbrook man was arrested at the home.

He will appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court later today charged with burglary, theft, theft of motor vehicle, possess a drug of dependence, handle stolen goods obtain property by deception and possess proceeds of crime.
