Second man charged over Tregear shooting

A second man has been charged following investigations into an alleged shooting in Tregear last month.

About 11.40pm on Thursday 18 July 2019, emergency services were called to a house on Kista Dan Avenue, following reports a man had been shot.

Police have been told the resident, a 31-year-old man, answered a knock at the front door, and two men entered the house.

The three men became involved in a verbal argument, before the resident was allegedly shot once in the arm.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command previously arrested and charged a 23-year-old man on Wednesday 24 July 2019.

He remains bail refused to appear before Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday 18 September 2019.

Following further inquiries, a second man, aged 20, was arrested at a house on Fraser Place, Shalvey, after he allegedly fled the scene of a vehicle stop on Margaret Court at 6.30pm yesterday (Monday 12 August 2019).

He was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with shoot at with intent to murder, aggravated robbery with wounding/grievous bodily harm and aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-wound.

The man was refused bail to appear before Mt Druitt Local Court today (Tuesday 13 August 2019).
