Second man dies after Lewisham shooting

A second man has died in hospital after a shooting in Sydney's Inner West last week.

Just after 1pm on Friday (4 September 2020), emergency services were called to Henry Street, Lewisham, after a 36-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to his chest.

He died on the way to hospital.

A short time later, a 55-year-old man – known to the younger man – was located in a nearby home on Victoria Street, suffering a gunshot wound to his head.

He was taken Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition; however, he died last night (Sunday 6 September 2020).

Detectives from Inner West Police Area Command, assisted by the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths under Strike Force Henne.
