Second Man Faces Charges in Mudgee Aggravated Break-In Probe

A second man has been charged following an investigation into a break and enter, steal at a property in the state's central west earlier this year.

About 4am on Saturday 6 May 2023, two men entered a home on Barigan Road, Barigan, and allegedly stole a Toyota Hilux utility, tools, a block splitter and 44-gallon drums of fuel.

Officers attached to the Rural Crime Prevention Team in Mudgee, commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A 45-year-old man was arrested in May and charged with a number of property and traffic-related offences. He remains before the courts.

Following extensive inquiries, a 30-year-old man was arrested after attending Wagga Wagga Police Station, about 8am today (Tuesday 29 August 2023). He was charged with;

• break and enter house steal value,

• receive motor vehicle part theft serious indictable offence,

• enter dwelling with intent (steal) and,

• take and drive conveyance without consent of owner.

The man appeared at Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Tuesday 29 August 2023), where he was formerly refused bail to reappear at Mudgee Local Court on Tuesday 12 September 2023.
