Second Suspect Charged in Murwillumbah Shooting Death

Police have charged a second man with murder following a fatal shooting at a property west of Murwillumbah earlier this month.

Emergency services were called to Tyalgum Road, Eungella, on Wednesday 3 December 2025 after two men, aged 38 and 41, were allegedly shot by another man who fled the scene with a fourth man.

The 41-year-old man died at the scene and the younger man was treated in hospital for a gunshot wound.

Detectives attached to Tweed/Byron Police District established Strike Force Bray to investigate.

A 36-year-old man – who police will allege was the fourth person – was charged the following day (Thursday 4 December 2025), over the shooting and has been remanded in custody to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on Tuesday 17 February 2026.

Following further investigations, strike force detectives extradited a 45-year-old man to NSW where he's been charged with one count each of murder, and shoot at with intent to murder.

The man was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Local Court 1 on Wednesday (10 December 2025), where he was further refused bail to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on Tuesday 17 February 2026.
