Second teen charged after grass fire in Orange

A second teenage boy has been charged following a grass fire in the state’s Central West, NSW Police say.

About 2pm on Saturday 12 February 2017, emergency services were called to an industrial area on William Street, Orange, following reports of a fire.

Emergency services attended and an animal shelter was evacuated.

Yesterday, a 12-year-old boy was charged with maliciously destroying or damaging property under the Crimes Act, cause or set fire to the property of another, or Crown, fail to comply with direction of the minister and destroy property in company use fire.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Monday 27 March 2017.

A 13-year-old was charged on Saturday over the same incident.
