Second woman charged over armed robbery at Air Force base, NSW

A second serving member of the Australian Defence Force has been arrested by police investigating the armed robbery of a financial institution at the Richmond Air Force base in 2014, NSW Police say.

Just after 3.30pm on Friday 7 February 2014, police responded to reports of an armed hold-up at a financial institution on Percival Street, Richmond.

It will be alleged a woman armed with a gun entered the building and threatened a female staff member before fleeing with cash.

The Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Potto to investigate the matter and has been working in partnership with the ADF Investigative Service.

A 21-year-old woman was arrested last Thursday (21 April 2016) and remains before the court.

About 11am today a second woman, who is a serving member of the ADF and based in Victoria, was arrested at Surry Hills Police Station.

The 24-year-old woman was charged with robbery whilst armed in company, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and possession of prohibited firearm.

She was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court later today.
