Seeking Photos and Poetry Depicting the Bright, Vibrant Rural Communities in Australia

In conjunction with the 15th National Rural Health Conference, the National Rural Health Alliance (NRHA) is calling for entries in the '2019 Friends of the Alliance Photo and Poetry Competition'.

The competition is seeking entries in two categories: poetry and photographs. Entries depicting bright, vibrant rural communities are encouraged. The competition is free to enter and open to everyone, excluding professional photographers and poets. Entries close on Friday, 15 February 2019.

The finalists' entries in each category will be exhibited at the Conference with delegates voting for the winners in each category. Winning entries will receive cash prizes of $500 for first place, and $250 for second place in each category. The winning entries will be announced at the 15th National Rural Health Conference in Hobart, 24-27 March 2019.

Chair of Friends of the Alliance, Chris Moorhouse, said: "The Photo and Poetry Competition is a fond tradition of Friends. Entries are about capturing the magic and challenges of life in rural and remote areas.

"Rural Australia is full of positive and unique places to live and work and Friends of the Alliance is pleased this competition helps celebrate the bush and highlight the wonderfully unique and diverse nature of rural and remote Australia."
