Sellafield Trainees Garner £10K for NW Air Ambulance

The group, made up of graduates and apprentices, have been raising money throughout the past year by organising a range of fundraising events. They also secured additional funding from the company Peer to Peer scheme, employee fundraising, match funding, safety schemes and a company donation.

Funding was raised through lots of activities including bake sales, the Yorkshire three peaks challenge, summer games tournament, Santa dash, Halloween fancy dress, and a Winter Ball.

Our Degree Apprentices are also pushing themselves to the limit in taking on the 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon on 1 June.

North West Air Ambulance provides rapid pre-hospital care needed to make a life saving difference. They operate three helicopters, flying 365 days a year with doctors and paramedics on board, providing emergency medical treatment to an area covering 5,500 square miles and over 8 million people.

Chris Andrews, Corporate Partnership Officer, North West Air Ambulance said:

It's been great to work with Sellafield Ltd and the fundraising team over the past year. We need to raise over £12 million a year to remain operational and it really helps to raise the profile of the service, especially as we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year. We have already attended 665 missions in 2024.
