Seniors Christmas Celebration Success: Bayside

Bayside Council's Seniors Christmas celebration at the Georges River 16ft Sailing Club on Monday 1 December to thank our volunteer groups was a tremendous success.

Guests were treated to a wonderful Christmas celebration with old and new friends while enjoying live entertainment and a chance to dance to some toe-tapping music.

This event is one of the highlights of Bayside's event calendar and provides an opportunity to thank the many volunteer groups for their contribution to our senior community.

Bayside Council is continually developing community-based programs to maximise the health and happiness of senior residents and to ensure they are socially connected and active in the community. This group includes people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Senior citizen community centres located throughout Bayside also offer various community programs for those wanting to socialise and meet people with similar interests. Including cultural and social activities, recreation, adult learning, and health and wellbeing services.

Bayside Mayor Edward McDougall said:

"This is just one of the ways recognise the amazing contribution our volunteer groups continue to make to Bayside. Collectively they run more than 30 groups and centres dedicated to keeping our seniors active and connected. Thanks to their efforts Bayside is a better place for seniors." Mayor Edward McDougall said.
