Seniors moment coming to Logan

Seniors moment coming to Logan

The City of Logan's annual celebration of all that's good about getting older (and wiser) is just around the corner.

Logan Loves Seniors Day gives older people the opportunity to participate in activities, be entertained and learn about the services available to them.

The centrepiece of the day is a free expo with more than 40 stalls, cooking and gardening workshops, yoga and tai chi sessions, a drumming workshop, massages and much more.

There's also a gala concert featuring the Carpenters from Kempsey, a Carpenters tribute band who'll be playing all their hits.

Described as eerily close to the real thing, the Carpenters from Kempsey aka

Darren Mapes and Debora Krizak, have performed such favourites as Close to You around the world to rave reviews.

Logan Loves Seniors Day will also see the announcement of the Senior Ambassador award for 2019.

The award, judged by an independent panel, recognises an older resident who has gone above and beyond to make Logan a liveable city of the future.

The expo begins at 9am at the Logan Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, August 20.

While Logan Loves Seniors Day has free entry, tickets for the concert cost $8 for a table seat and $6 for a balcony seat and can be purchased at loganentertainmentcentre.com.au.
