A man has received serious head injuries, as a result of a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist at Maroochydore this morning.
Initial investigations indicate, at around 4.30 the collision occurred in the Westbound lanes of Aerodrome Road near the Sizzler restaurant.
The injured cyclist was subsequently transported from the scene, to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for medical treatment.
The roadway at that location is closed for the safety of investigators and drivers are urged to consider alternative routes.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
