Serious Crash Between Motor Cycle And Car - Albion Park

A motor cycle rider has been seriously injured following a crash with a car in the state's Illawarra region.

About 7.55pm yesterday (Sunday 31 August 2025), emergency services responded to reports of a crash between a motor cycle and a blue Honda Civic at the intersection of Princes Highway and Kaylaur Crescent, Albion Park.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District established a crime scene that was examined by specialist police.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 45-year-old male rider at the scene before he was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.

The driver – a 22-year-old man - was uninjured but allegedly returned a positive road side breath test.

He was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where it will be further alleged that a breath analysis returned a positive reading resulting in the man's provisional licence being suspended.

The man was then taken to Shellharbour Hospital for mandatory testing before being released pending further inquiries.

As investigations continue police are urging anyone with information about the crash – or was in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact Lake Illawarra Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
