On Tuesday 7 March 2023 at approximately 3:00pm, emergency services responded to a serious single motor vehicle crash on the East Tamar Highway at Rocherlea in the north bound lanes.
The black Mercedes sedan involved in the crash contained two occupants with the driver, a man in his 20's sustaining serious injuries after his vehicle struck the Armco railing. His passenger, a man also in his 20's sustained minor injuries.
Both the occupants were conveyed to the Launceston General Hospital. The driver remains in a critical condition at this time.
Tasmania Police are currently investigating the cause of this crash with speed and road conditions being potential contributing factors.
Tasmania Police would like to hear from any members of the public who may have witnessed the black Mercedes sedan traveling north on the East Tamar Highway at approximately 3pm or who may have dash cam footage.
