Serious injury crash in Windang

Officers from Lake Illawarra Crash Investigation Unit are conducting inquiries into a collision which left a woman with serious injuries yesterday.

About 6pm yesterday, a Subaru Impreza and Holden Astra collided while travelling south on Windang Road, Windang, NSW Police say.

Police have been told the Astra was attempting to turn into a driveway at the time of the collision.

After the impact, the Impreza mounted the footpath and hit a washing machine and fridge on the nature strip.

The Astra crashed through the brick fence of a nearby home before hitting a Toyota Hilux which was parked in the driveway.

The 24-year-old male driver of the Subaru was uninjured. His 20-year-old female passenger was conveyed to Wollongong Hospital with serious abdominal injuries.

A four-year-old boy in the back seat of the Impreza was uninjured.

The 71-year-old female driver of the Astra and her 46-year-old male passenger both suffered minor injuries and were conveyed to Wollongong Hospital.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Crash Investigation Unit have commenced inquiries into the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
