Serious Motor Vehicle Accident – Kindred Road in Forth, TAS

On Thursday 29th June 2017 at approximately 2pm Police were called to attend a single vehicle crash on Kindred Road, Forth in the vicinity of Thompsons Road, Tasmania Police say.

A green Mazda MX-5 has left the road at this location impacting a hydro power pole.

Damage to the vehicle required Tasmania Fire Service to extract the driver of the vehicle prior to transport to hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, a 62 year old female sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to the North West Regional Hospital in a critical condition.

The 58 year old male passenger in the vehicle did not sustain injuries and was transported to the North West Regional Hospital as a precaution.

The cause of the accident is at this time undetermined.

Western Crash Investigation Services, Ulverstone Police and members of Western Traffic Services attended the crash with the road closed to all traffic whilst the scene was documented.

With impending inclement weather due to cross the state overnight and Friday, police would like to take the opportunity to remind motorists to drive to the conditions.

Kindred Road is open to normal vehicle traffic.
