Serious pedestrian and car incident at Mossman

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious car and pedestrian incident at Mossman yesterday, August 29.

A Toyota Rav4 was travelling within Bill Reese Park near the rest area, which is accessed from Mossman Daintree Road, just after 8pm when the vehicle struck a 28-year-old male pedestrian.

The 27-year-old driver immediately pulled over and started performing CPR.

Emergency crews were called and the patient was transported in a critical condition to Mossman Hospital before being taken by helicopter to Cairns Hospital.

A crime scene was declared at the public rest area in the park.

Police investigations are ongoing.
