Serious Traffic Crash at Chatsworth, Police Responding

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a serious single-vehicle traffic crash at Chatsworth, near Gympie, this afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 12pm, a Ford Explorer was travelling north along the Bruce Highway when it crossed the road and collided with a tree.

The driver and sole occupant, a 57-year-old Gunalda man, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with critical injuries.

Witnesses, particularly anyone with relevant dashcam vision or CCTV, is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
