Serious traffic crash at Gatton, QLD

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash at Gatton this afternoon, Queensland Police say.

Around 2.40pm, officers were called to South Street following reports of a single vehicle into a power pole.

Initial investigations indicate the Ford Falcon sedan lost control and hit the power pole causing significant damage to the vehicle.

The driver, a 24-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

A 25-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash.

Police are appealing with witnesses to contact them if they have not yet done so and are also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle prior to the incident.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit continue.
