Serious Traffic Crash at Hamilton Island: Police Responding

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a single vehicle crash on Hamilton Island this morning, May 11.

Initial reports indicate at approximately 1.30am, a 2014 E-Z-GO golf buggy was travelling along a driveway on Acacia Drive when it crashed.

The driver, an 18-year-old Buddina woman, received minor injuries.

Four passengers, a 21-year-old Willow Vale woman, a 21-year-old Cannonvale man, a 21-year-old Brandy Creek man and a 19-year-old Kew man, were also injured.

The 21-year-old Willow Vale woman was airlifted to Mackay Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
