Serious Traffic Crash in Bundaberg South, Police Responding

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a 16-year-old trail-bike rider was seriously injured following a traffic crash at Bundaberg South yesterday afternoon, February 9.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 2.30pm, a Kawasaki KXF motorcycle was travelling east along Burnett Street when it stuck the side of a Mitsubishi Triton utility near Hunter Street.

The rider, a 16-year-old Avoca boy, received life-threatening injuries and was transported to Bundaberg Hospital for treatment.

The driver, a 63-year-old Bullyard man, was not physically injured.

Witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam vision, is urged to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
