Serious traffic crash in Croydon, QLD

A man has been seriously injured following a crash near Croydon last night, Queensland Police say.

Just before 9.50pm, police were advised of a two vehicle crash on the Gulf Developmental Road, around five kilometres north-west of Croydon.

Preliminary information suggests a car travelling north-west towards Normanton appears to have veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a utility travelling in the other direction.

A man – the driver of the car – sustained a catastrophic arm injury as a result of the crash. He was the vehicle’s sole occupant.

The sole occupant male driver of the ute was not physically injured.

He was transported initially to Croydon Health Clinic before being medivaced to Townsville.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
