The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a serious traffic crash in Glenella overnight, Queensland Police say.
Preliminary investigations indicate just before 8:30pm a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Glenella Richmond Road.
Emergency services attended and a 44-year-old man was transported to Mackay Base Hospital with life threatening injuries.
He has since been transported to Townsville Base Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old woman, was not physically injured during the crash.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.
