Serious traffic crash in Haigslea, QLD

Police are currently at the scene of a serious multi-vehicle traffic crash on the Warrego Highway in Haigslea this morning., Queensland Police say

Initial information indicates a two-vehicle collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Claus Road around 8.20am.

A separate collision then occurred when a vehicle crashed into the back of a utility which was stationary at the incident location.

The female driver and a child passenger who had stopped to render assistance were inside the utility at the time.

The woman sustained serious head injuries and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

The child was transported to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ipswich Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.

Traffic diversions remain in place at the scene and motorists travelling east should expect delays.
