Serious traffic crash in Holloways Beach, QLD

Police are investigating a serious two vehicle crash which occurred in Holloways Beach yesterday afternoon, Queensland Police say.

At around 4.45pm emergency services received reports a motorcycle had crashed on the Captain Cook Highway, 100 metres north of the Holloways Beach roundabout.

Information suggests the motorcycle collided with the rear of the vehicle in front before colliding with another vehicle and crashing into a road sign.

The 53-year-old male rider was transported to the Cairns Base Hospital with critical injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating circumstances surrounding the crash.
