Police are currently at the scene of a serious motorcycle crash in Rockhampton this afternoon, Queensland Police say.
Initial information suggests at 4.10pm, a female motorcycle rider was travelling along Yeppoon Road when it crashed near ‘access 8’.
She sustained serious injuries and will be transported to hospital.
A short time later, a second crash occurred involving two vehicles near the site of the motorcycle crash.
No-one was injured in the second crash.
As a result, Yeppoon Road is closed and will be for some time heading towards Yeppoon.
Traffic diversions are in place and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
