Serious traffic incident in Tallai, QLD

An investigation is underway following a serious traffic incident in Tallai overnight, Queensland Police say.

Around 11.30pm, two men were involved in an argument at an Alawara Drive address before one of them got in his car to leave.

As the car travelled down Alawara Drive, the other man stood in front of the car to try and stop him.

The driver appeared to accelerate and drove directly into the man who was thrown into the air and landed on a nature strip.

A 32 year-old Upper Coomera man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries including internal injuries as well as leg and arm fractures.

The driver, a 39-year-old Nerang man, fled the scene however he was located this morning and taken into custody around 8am.

He assisting police with their enquiries.

The pair are known to each other.
