Service NSW has a proud presence in rural and regional centres across the state and will dedicate resources to support them as communities struggle with one of the worst droughts on record.
Across October and the dry season ahead, there will be more Cost of Living Specialists available to help farmers, families and their communities access the rebates and savings relevant to them.
Staff at all 68 Service NSW Centres in rural and regional NSW and on the much-loved Mobile Service Centres have been trained to help with information about the government rebates and savings.
Help available includes:
- drought transport subsidy which provides up to $40,000 to eligible farm businesses to help with approved farm-related transport costs
- drought assistance fund which provides interest-free loans to primary producers
- waiver of registration charges on class 1 agricultural vehicles.

The Cost of Living team will be on board Mobile Service Centres and 'pop up sites' will be set up in locations not on the bus routes.
The pop up sites include:
- Mungindi - 14 October
- Warialda - 16 October
- Bingara - 17 October
- Tenterfield - 18 October
- Coonamble - 22 October
- Walcha - 31 October
Service NSW teams are so committed to the communities they serve, they'll have collection points in Service NSW Centres for customers who want to donate to the Rural Aid fundraising appeal.
