Service station armed robbery in Malvern East

Police have released CCTV following an armed robbery at a service station in Malvern East last month, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told that a man walked into the service station located at the corner of Waverley and Burke Roads about 6.50am on 10 September.

The man approached the counter and unzipped the hi-vis vest he was wearing, showing the attendant what was believed to be part of a firearm.

He then asked the attendant to hand over cash, which the attendant did.

The man then left the store and headed towards Waverley Road on foot.

The staff member was not injured during the incident.

Detectives from Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and have released CCTV and images of a man they wish to speak to.

He’s described as being perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, aged between 25-35 years old, about 178cm tall with a medium build and spoke with an Australian accent.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a green or yellow hi-vis vest, black hooded jumper, dark pants, sneakers and a baseball cap.

He also had on black rimmed glasses and gloves.

Anyone with any information about the man or the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
