Service station robbed, man charged, NSW

A man has been charged after a service station was robbed in Tolland earlier this year, NSW Police say.

About 3.30am on Wednesday 28 February 2018, two men entered the service station on Bourke Street, with their faces concealed

Police will allege one of the men, who was in possession of a samurai sword, demanded cash from the till.

The men have allegedly assaulted a 23-year-old male employee by punching him to the head.

The armed men fled the store on foot with over 300 packets of cigarettes and a sum of cash.

Officers from Riverina Police District were alerted and commenced investigations.

About 1pm (Wednesday 1 August 2018) police arrested a 46-year-old man at his home. He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where he was charged with aggravated robbery and use corporal violence.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 12 September 2018.

Investigations continue and further arrests are likely to be made.
