Services commencing from new Morisset Police Station by end of month, NSW

Lake Macquarie Local Area Command will be commencing services for the public by the end of the month from its newly-built police station at Morisset, NSW Police say.

The old station was closed for demolition in June last year, with a new station being built on the same site.

Services will commence at the new station from Monday 30 May 2016.

It is planned the station will be open from 8am to 4pm daily, with a police response vehicle also operating out of the station 24 hours a day to attend jobs in the local area and surrounds.

Lake Macquarie Local Area Commander, Superintendent Brett Greentree, said he is confident the local community will welcome the commencement of services at the new station.

"The new Morisset Police Station adds to the improved police facilities that are being built in Lake Macquarie; with the recent opening of the new Command Headquarters at Belmont, and the building of the new police station at Toronto also underway.

"This new police station delivers a modern customer service environment coupled with state-of-the-art facilities for policing in the local area," Supt Greentree said.

The Command is being joined at the facility by a Special Protection Group Police Dog unit and a contingent of officers from the Police Transport Command.

The address of the new Morisset Police Station is 73 Dora Street, Morisset, and the phone number will be (02) 4973 9999.
