"ACTSES volunteers delivered vital supplies to those who needed it most during COVID-19 restrictions, whilst also maintaining their operational readiness for storms and floods.

"I would like our volunteers to know how appreciated they are by Canberrans."

The recipients are being honoured in the following categories:

  • Diligent Service;
  • Meritorious Service;
  • Youth Achievement;
  • Appreciation;
  • Length of Service for 5, 10 and 20 years; and
  • Tony Graham Leadership and Values accompanied with a scholarship from the SES Volunteers Association to fund further studies in leadership.

Newly appointed Chief Officer of ACTSES Anthony Draheim congratulated the 44 volunteers for their dedication and committed service.

"In my short time working with the ACT Emergency Services Agency, I have seen our ACTSES members go above and beyond to help the Canberra community during times of need," Chief Draheim said.

"Being a volunteer with the ACT and NSW SES for over seven years I understand the passion and drive to provide assistance when needed.

"Today is an opportunity to congratulate the efforts of ACTSES volunteers, staff and family for all they do for our community".
